Tallystone is inspired by humanity’s continuous pursuit to solve the problem of commercial trust.
5000 years ago, Mesopotamian merchants tallied traded goods and assets using soft blocks of clay, with signatures often pressed into the surface to validate the exchange. For good measure, the clay ledgers were rendered secure and inalterable by baking them into tablets as hard as stone. The hardened blocks were submitted to public archives, and in the event of a dispute, were consulted as the ultimate authority of truth.
We are creating this century's tally stones.
